Bennet’s Bio
Born and raised his entire life in Bombay, India. Bennet attended the same church for over 25 years; he was involved in youth camps, the choir and enjoyed studying theology.
In order to finally fulfill God’s calling for full-time ministry. Bennet resigned from his last corporate job as a VP of Network Marketing Multinational.
While waiting on the Lord one of his spiritual mentor’s guided him to work with a street children ministry. As he fasted and prayed about what ministry to commit to, God had clearly showed Bennet.
It was an unexpected moment and thru a group of young kids, the exact words were, “if you love me, take care of my sheep (street kids).” Having been humbled by God to work with street kids, which was the last thing, he ever thought he would do. He was simply unable to deny the peace he had in his heart, he yielded to God’s call and started the Bombay project for Good Shepherd Homes, a charity working with street kids in Maharashtra, India.
After 4 years in full-time ministry God guided him to continue the work but this time to work on his own. Tender Hands ministry is that calling.
Bennet David resides in Bombay with his wife Bernadette David.

Bernadette’s (Bernie’s) Bio
Born in Arizona, USA as Bernie Lake, she spent her childhood moving around the world as the daughter of a career military officer.
As a teenager and young adult, Bernie was rebellious and far away from God. After becoming a Christian in 2002 she moved from Colorado to Manhattan, New York and worked on Wall Street as a mortgage banker for JP Morgan Chase Bank. She also attended Times Square Church and took an active part in short-term mission trips to Africa and India. She was also involved in children’s ministry and woman’s ministry.
While on her first mission trip to India, the team she was a part of focused on commercial sex workers (prostitutes) and children. During this first trip, she also met Bennet David, who was their host while in Bombay.
On her second trip to India, the team she was a part of worked exclusively in the red-light district of Pune, India. She worked again with the prostitutes, the children and eunuchs.
While on both of these trips, she knew God was calling her to India for full-time missions. After posing every possible question to God and all her doubts for over a year, she finally knew it was God’s leading.
After working for JP Morgan Chase Bank for 9 years, she resigned from her position and moved to India. With her love for children and passion for woman’s issues, she co-founded Tender Hands Ministry.
She resides in Bombay with her husband, Bennet David.
